The Hytte
Our Cabin has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The primary bedroom has an en suite and the second bathroom is across the hall from the bunk room (double bunk beds means twice the fun!). No crazy full sized bed in the master, we've got a queen sized bed with a Casper mattress, proper pillows, cushy towels and fluffy blankets. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook or bake. Make margaritas (or smoothies) in the blender, grind some beans for coffee in the grinder and brew it up in the Cuisinart coffee maker, or use the french press. Make pancakes on the griddle or kabobs on the grill. We really tried to think of everything! Cozy up around the fireplace in the winter or roast marshmallows over the fire pit all year round. Spend your time outside on the wrap around porch in our locally handmade rockers and Adirondack chairs, or play board games at the picnic table or on the porch swing. Long day of hiking? End it in the hot tub! Use the high speed internet when you need to surf the web, email or text, or better yet just unplug and maybe enjoy our selection of DVDs in the bunk room or the living room for quiet movie time. And seriously, if we forgot something please let us know!
We are in Murphy, NC just fifteen minutes to quaint downtown Murphy to the east and 20 minutes to adorable Blue Ridge to our west. Eat in the hytte or head to town to enjoy one of the many great restaurants (there's even a decent pizzeria, and we are pizza snobs!) The local shops are a fantastic place to pick up souvenirs or something special for you to remember your time in the mountains.
Our location is the ideal combination of seclusion without isolation. We are part of a small community of cabins that are mostly short term rentals and are all adorable and well kept. The happy hytte is at the end of its own road and on a full acre. There is a pond directly in front of the property and a hiking trail at the end of the drive. We are easy to get to, with paved roads all the way up to the driveway (you will not be rolling backward down a hill trying to reach our place). We have personally seen many deer, rabbits, woodchuck, hawks and raccoons but our favorite visitor is Mr. Fox. He's a regular around the pond, so keep your eyes peeled.
Oh, and we also have fairies and a bigfoot, but only bigfoot gets his mail at our place. Feel free to drop him a line. Leave a return address and he will write you back!

A Few House Rules
- Please treat our home as though it were your own. Let us know if anything is damaged. There may be a fee.
- No parties or events without prior arrangement.
- No smoking inside.
- Dog welcoming, no pet fee or size restrictions
- No unregistered guests please.
- Please don't eat or drink in the bedrooms.
- Please keep the noise down after 10pm.
- Please keep track of the side door key. A lost key charge of 50.00 will apply if it goes missing.
- Do your dishes and remove your trash. The cleaning crew will do the rest.
- If your pooch is nervous when alone, please utilize the crate we have provided.
- Take care to put out your fire completely.
- Our HOA does not allow hunting on the property, so please don't shoot at any of the critters while there.
- Please pick up your' fur baby's business.
- Have an amazing time.
